Junior Girl Scouts will discover the difference between Richmond then and now by comparing maps, examining monuments, touring the Confederate White House, taking a walking tour to see firsthand some of Richmond’s architectural gems, and learning about people who have helped to shape our city. Space is limited and reservations are required.
Pamplin Historical Park and The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier invites history enthusiasts to the 14th Annual Symposium at the Park’s Education Center October 15-17, 2010. The theme is “The 1860 Presidential Election and the Coming of the Civil War.” Guest speakers from across the country will share their knowledge of the controversial politics of the year before the Civil War.
